My Bio
I'm an old school classical musician, I have lots of hobbies and know more than I should about almost everything. I'm a proud atheist simply because I can not believe in a deity without verifiable proof. I don't care to try and 'convert' anyone, I only debate when invited to do so by the other party so I am not forcing my 'beliefs' on others. I currently hold a B.A. in music with a minor in education and a Texas EC-12 music certification (I can teach music to all levels of student). I am taking a year and a half to continue practicing, get some bills paid, and audition to another music school for my Master's in Music performance. I also co-own a small audio recording business with a friend.

Likes: rational thought, well supported claims, bacon, talking with people, music, learning, cooperation, science, philosophy.

Dislikes: ignorance, blind faith in intangible things, onions, peas, being hit by vehicles, unwarranted disrespect.

So as mentioned in my last update I was looking into creating a wind symphony. Lucky for me, there's been quite a bit of support! I have about 30 musicians who want to join (still need a dozen or so more) and I've found donors! The cool bit is that if I calculate JUST the donations that have been guaranteed and add in the projected revenue from ticket sales, then we will beat our budget by $2,500! That's an extra 2.5k we can use to pay for all rehearsals for next year, it will lighten our load and give me the opportunity to really start investing in some good equipment. If you are interested in supporting the Houston Wind Symphony, we are c

In the last several months I have been in talks with some musicians and getting things planned out and now I can finally talk about  it in some detail. I have created a performing concert band. Anyone unfamiliar with the term should know that this is not a rock band with guitars, drums, and vocals, but it's a symphonic band will woodwinds, brass, and percussion. I'm negotiating rehearsal space this week, we're putting up our recruitment posters next Monday, officially opening bank accounts on Friday, and our website will be up within 1-2 days. I'm really excited about it because over the next few years, I'm going to aggressively search for fu

Ok, over the summer months I have been busy and now I am ready to unveil my grand schemes. I have applied to grad school and have been accepted. I am currently working on my MA (Master of Arts) in Arts Leadership. It is a degree for anyone in fine arts who wants to run an arts organization (a museum, music thater, orchestra, etc.) it covers the nitty gritty mechanical parts to how business works and other things like getting grants and donations. I am also preparing for talks with the music school at my college to get accepted into a second master program, this one for conducting. If all goes as planned, I will be graduating with a double mas
